Your options for an easy transition

  • Recycle Cups as part of a serviced contract
  • Recycle Cups Under rental agreements
  • Recycle Cups for purchase

You can mix and match purchased cups and the rental of generic cups.

Our sales team can advise on which options might work best for your business.

Refundable Deposit Scheme

Our refundable deposit scheme is one of our most popular reusable event solutions. The customer pays a deposit for a reusable cup with their first drink which can be refunded at the end of the event.

When operating a deposit scheme you should consider having clear signage around bars and across the venue. This effectively delivers a clear message on how the scheme works. Some venues choose to have dedicated cup return points whereas others take all transactions through the bar tills. CHEERS can assist with artwork and wording for bar signage as well as give advice on how best to operate the refundable deposit scheme.

Compulsory Levy Scheme

The customer pays a fee to purchase their reusable cup with their first drink. This can be added to the ticket price of the event as a “green tax”

Many of our festival clients use our ‘generic festival cups’ alongside a limited number of their own bespoke designs. The keepme reusable cups tend to be used at the beginning of the event, so that on the last day or for their last drink, the customer can receive a bespoke cup to take home as a souvenir of the event.

 No Charge Scheme

The customer receives their drink in a reusable cup at no extra fee and is encouraged to return it to the bar or dedicated collection area for reuse.

If you choose to operate a no charge scheme, we tend to advise using a reusable cup with a plain or simple design. CHEERS have found that this is necessary in order to prevent the customer taking the cup home with them. The majority of our Sports venue clients use our ‘generic reuse me’ ecocups, which simply explain to the customer “I am a reusable cup. Please take me back to the bar.”

The costs are recouped by reducing waste costs and disposable cup costs.

Deposit Scheme Versus Compulsory Levy Scheme

Which option is best for your event...

Deposit Scheme

  • For the first drink purchased an additional charge is taken as a cup deposit.
  • Return the cup to the bar for each additional drink purchased..
  • After the last drink you have two options.

Return your cup to the bar to receive your deposit back.

Keep the cup to take as a souvenir home.

Compulsory Levy Scheme

  • A non-refundable deposit (Green tax) is charged either in the ticket price or at the bar on the first drink.
  • Users take their cup to the bar for each additional drink and receive a fresh clean cup  ensuring that safety standards are met.
  • After their last drink guests are encouraged to use the collection points to recycle or leave at the bar.

Our Keepmecups are dishwasher safe and 100% recyclable.
